Welcome to El Tepache Mexican Grill

Tepache is a traditional Mexican drink that dates back to pre-Columbian Mexico and was a popular drink among the people of central Mexico. The base of Tepache was originally corn, but today, the Tepache drink has a more modern recipe. Tepache is a fermented beverage made from the peel and the rind of pineapples. It is sweetened with piloncillo or brown sugar and is seasoned with powdered cinnamon and served cold. It is stored in barrels to make the fermentation process go faster. Tepache can still be found today in Mexico and is served chilled by street vendors.

The pineapple symbolizes an expression of “welcome” in the South and the appreciation of friendship and hospitality.
